On the 15th of September, 2017 students of Zuyd Hogeschool visited the Proteges office. They talked with a medical specialist about innovations in Healthcare. How can innovation improve healthcare by using wearables, sensors, and apps?
It was a very interactive session where a lot of information was shared. The attendees talked about processes and opportunities to innovate.
The focus was on the aftercare and revalidation phase.
Quite a few aspects were being discussed, for example:
- What goes well and what needs improvement for both the patient and the doctor in this final phase?
- How will insurance companies react?
- How can techniques such as apps, wearables, sensors, artificial intelligence and machine learning support the treatment of, and caring for patients?
After discussing the revalidation phase there was still a lot of enthusiasm and the conversation shifted towards previous phases in the treatment. The session made clear that there is a lot to discuss and a lot of new ideas were introduced.
Sessions like this with students of Zuyd Hogeschool, Proteges members and professionals in Healthcare give all participants new information and insights. We hope to organize many more of these sessions in which participants can share knowledge!
For the students of Zuyd Hogeschool, this meeting was organized as part of the minor ‘Business Change and Innovation’.
Students were able to share their knowledge from a more theoretical perspective, as learned during their study. The medical specialist was able to share his knowledge gained from his professional experience
